DESCRIPTION:TeenFlight™ build session. \n10am start due to the EAA 105 Monthly Blueberry Pancake Breakfast at Twin Oaks Airpark. \n– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – \nAfter a week off I hope we are all rested and ready to go.  We will have a short session this week\, starting at 10 AM following the EAA breakfast at Twin Oaks.  We’ve still have plenty to do on the Empennage/Tail Cone kit.  Little finish details on almost everything plus a lot of assembly yet needed on the Stabilator and the Tail Cone. \nAs an additional surprise\, we will have the Wing kit to inventory and shelve.  I had not expected this yet but am glad to have it.  We hope to also get the Finishing kit in about a month\, so will definitely have more than enough to keep us busy through Summer break. \nThe forecast is for good weather on Saturday\, so this may be an opportunity for intro rides for some students.  To my knowledge\, only a few students have yet turned in parent approval forms.  Our RV-12 iS is in my hangar at Sunset Airpark\, so is readily available. \nSee you at 10 AM on Saturday. \nDick V.

DESCRIPTION:Last week was the first Saturday class following our Spring Break Saturday off.  We continued making progress on the various empennage segments in addition to taking inventory of the Wing kit and getting it on the racks and in the bins. \nThis Saturday we will continue work on the remaining empennage components\, particularly the Stabilator and the Tail Cone. We need to assure that we are truly finished with empennage pieces before putting them aside. \nWe will also begin preparatory work on wing kit components.

DESCRIPTION:Last week we made good progress on the stabilator\, tail cone\, and fuel tank.  We should be able to do final work on the tank this week.  Wing construction has been started consisting mainly of parts prep work. \nWith luck we will have the new fuel pump accessories this week and can rework the pump mounts and many of the new fuel lines. \nThe weekend of May 16-17 is the HIO Airshow.  So\, no class on the 16th.  This show provides an opportunity to display our airplane\, in-process kit\, or both.  Last year we displayed our almost finished TF-9 plane and it was well received.  The AirShow folks also are expanding their “Kids day” on Friday preceding the airshow itself.  We were surprised at the number of school kids that had been bussed in for this event.  Let’s talk about this event and see how much interest and support we might have for this.

DESCRIPTION:Last Saturday we did well on most projects\, but did experience a costly mistake in one area.  We can’t turn the clock back and remedy this mistake\, but I hope we can lean from it.  We will talk about this a bit at class. \nWe’ve got plenty to do this Saturday with the fuel system revision kit.  This involves fabricating a lot of new aluminum fuel lines and replacing some fuel pump mounting brackets on the baggage bulkhead. \nWe also will probably be able to finish the fuel tank assy. this week. \nWe will be missing three mentors this Saturday as they will be away at a formation flying clinic.  Maybe at some future class we can have a talk on formation flying. \nSee you on Saturday.
